Victoria and Ian's Colt State Park Elopement - Rhode Island Wedding

Updated: Feb 29, 2020

When Victoria reached out to see if I would be interested in photographing her and Ian's elopement at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island I was immediately on board. Elopements are such an intimate moment between two people and to be a witness to that is just so incredible every time.

I arrived to the ceremony location about an hour beforehand, as I usually do, and the weather and light were perfect. I started out walking around the ceremony area and the fields surrounding to scout some portrait locations. There truly was not a bad spot in the park to shoot. Not long after I arrived I was greeted by Ian who arrived a bit early to setup their simple decorations. Victoria and Ian kept things simple with white flowers and greenery, which matched my personal style so well.

Their ceremony was beautiful and intimate. Rev. Don officiated their ceremony and he was the perfect piece to round out an already perfect day. He spoke softly and his words were touching. If another person could have made their love stronger, Rev. Don was that person.

After their first look and the ceremony we had so much time to explore the park, hang out and create some truly beautiful images. As we explored Victoria and Ian had the chance to enjoy every moment of their day. As we moved around from spot to spot I kind of just let them do their thing as I shot away. Oh and we of course had to bust out the champagne because it was a celebration after all!
